The Programme Manager concept was identified in the HPSS R&D Strategy as a means of supporting and assisting the individual professions to develop their full R&D potential and capacity. Five key areas comprise the role of the Programme Manager (Nursing):

  1. to be an effective link between the R&D Office and the nursing profession ;
  2. to assist the nursing profession develop its full R&D potential and research capacity;
  3. to assist the nursing profession benefit from the R&D Office schemes;
  4. to ensure the nursing profession is fully involved in all aspects of emerging RRGs;
  5. to contribute to the overall functioning of the R&D Office and the implementation of the HPSS R&D Strategy.
This web page is aimed at keeping nurses abreast of developments within the Programme Manager post in relation to the key areas identified in the plan for future developments and also developments within the R&D Office generally.
