Personal Bursary Scheme

This is an ongoing scheme which provides funding for postgradute or diploma level research course (including MClinRes) or research modules within a postgraduate degree/diploma programme. Short research relevant courses or short periods of training in specific research methodologies will also be considered. This scheme is intended for individuals currently working within the HPSS or in voluntary/not-for-profit organisations involved in health or social care provision.

Studentship

This scheme provides students with the opportunity to apply to designated university departments for approved projects.

Fellowship Schemes

These scheme provides support for individuals to undertake research training as a means of developing a research career in health and social care areas. There are two schemes, the Fellowship scheme provides support for individuals to undertake a higher degree (PhD, DPhil, MD, DMedSc) whereas the MPhil scheme provides support for individuals to undertake an MPhil. The MPhil Fellowship provides scope for the individual to undertake additional training in research methods. Both these schemes are intended for individuals currently working within the HPSS or in voluntary/not-for-profit organisations in Northern Ireland involved in health or social care provision.
