The Programme Manager concept was identified in the HPSS R&D Strategy as a means of supporting and assisting the individual professions to develop their full R&D potential and capacity. Five key areas comprise the role of the Programme Manager (Allied Health):

  1. to be an effective link between the R&D Office and the Allied Health Professions;
  2. to assist the Allied Health Professions develop their full R&D potential and research capacity;
  3. to assist the Allied Health Professions benefit from the R&D Office schemes;
  4. to ensure the Allied Health Professions are fully involved in all aspects of emerging RRGs;
  5. to contribute to the overall functioning of the R&D Office and the implementation of the HPSS R&D Strategy.
This web page is aimed at keeping Allied Health Professionals abreast of developments within the Programme Manager post in relation to the key areas identified in the plan for future developments and also developments within the R&D Office generally.

Allied Health Professions Online

Allied Health Professions Online is part of the Department of Health, Social Services and Public Safety website, and provides information about each of the Allied Health Professions and their role in health and social care. The site contains documents, links and information of interest specifically to AHPs. The site also provides information about the courses for Allied Health Professionals that are currently ongoing at the Centre for Professional Development, Clady Villa, Knockbracken Healthcare Park.
