Logistic Service
A key element in the strategy for the provision of services will be to maximize the use of Supplies Distribution Centres for stock purchasing, warehousing and distribution, the largest of which is situated at Boucher Crescent, Belfast. The Supplies Distribution Centre operates a computerised warehouse management system, which facilitates the control of stock items from time of receipt to time of dispatch to its customer base.
The stock management system ensures optimum inventory levels. Stocks are stored in optimum environmental conditions to ensure minimum deterioration, and are rotated systematically. the receipt of requisitions generates picking and marshalling activities, and orders are packed for dispatch.

Requisitioning of stock occurs remotely i.e. at the customer site and is co-ordinated at the centres to consolidate the efficient logistics of the supply chain.
Community Care Appliances
RSS Community Care Appliances Service provides a CCA service to Trusts in the Eastern and Western Board areas from RSS Stores at Argyle Business centre, Belfast, Downshire Hsopital, Lagan Valley Hospital and Gransha. The community Care Appliances Service is committed to provide a caring and sensitive service to Trusts Clients, which enhances the quality of life within their home environment.
- The CCA service delivered from RSS Belfast provides a stock range of 113 items at a value of over £1.5 million to North and West Belfast, South and East Belfast, Down Lisburn and Ulster Community Hospitals Trusts and incorporates equipment collection and cleansing service for North and West Belfast and South and East Belfast Trusts.
- The Gransha CCA service provides a stock range of 130 items at a value of over £1.2 million to Londonderry, Limavady and Strabane area and incorporates equipment collection and cleansing service for Foyle Trust and part of the Sperrin Lakeland trust Catchment area.
- A service level of 99% was consistently achieved, against a customer performance requirement of 95%.
