Employment Law
The Employment Law section handles a large number of complex employment issues with excellent results. As the challenge to employers within the public sector increases, DLS offers clients access to specialist Solicitors in this area.
Solicitors offer training in related areas and review policies for clients in order that preventative measures are in place.

General Litigation
Under the area of General Litigation DLS deals with, primarily, cases of Employers Liability and Occupiers Liability. In the last year, there was the usual range of claims ranging from manual handling incidents to dermatitis cases, slipping/tripping cases and needle stick injuries.
DLS continues to protect the interests of clients, both in contesting cases and in negotiating settlements. During the year, DLS has also continued to assist in training and in taking preventative measures to reduce the number of incidents that can lead to claims. In particular, Solicitors within DLS have given lectures highlighting the statutory obligations of employers and stressing the importance of risk management and compliance with those obligations.
Regular meetings are held with clients to discuss cases, appropriate tactics and trends in litigation. DLS is conscious of the financial costs of claims to clients and seeks to co-operate with them to reduce those costs.
