Joint Consultation on the Screening of Policies 2006 – 2007
As part of the statutory equality duties under Section 75 of the Northern Ireland Act 1998, and commitments outlined in our Equality Schemes, the Agencies and Special Bodies working in Health and Social Care in Northern Ireland are jointly consulting on the screening outcomes of a range of new or revised policies.
The organisations involved are:
· Central Services Agency (CSA)
· Northern Ireland Practice and Education Council for Nursing and Midwifery (NIPEC)
· Northern Ireland Regional Medical Physics Agency (MPA)
· Northern Ireland Blood Transfusion Service (BTS).

The organisations are keen to consult as widely as possible, and seek your views on how the policies will impact on each of the nine target groups as specified by Section 75, as well as on the conclusions reached in the screening exercises.
It is hoped that you will find time to comment on the documents. The consultation is managed centrally by the Equality Unit at the Central Services Agency. We will accept comments in a range of formats such as in writing, by email or by telephone. Please advise if you would prefer to provide your comments in person. The consultation will finish on 26 October 2007.
